Malta Co-operative Federation President John Mallia recently delivered an information session on co-operatives as part of an Entrepreneurship training course organised by the Maltese National Council of Women. The course was open to persons evaluating the prospect of opening a business of their own, either individually or in a group. The session discussed co-operative business, the principles underlying them, co-operative enterprises in different sectors of the economy and how to set up a co-operative. The session ended with an interesting and interactive discussion on various business ideas put forward by the participants themselves, and how these ideas could materialise using the co-operative model.
