The Malta Co-operative Federation (MCF) sent a letter to Dr. Robert Abela, congratulating him for his appointment as Malta’s nineth Prime Minister
The federation said that its council and members look forward to working with the government to strengthen and promote the cooperative business model.
“The Federation looks forward to working with the government on initiatives that boost Malta’s huge potential in the social economy sector, amongst which there’s cooperative housing and social cooperatives.”
MCF said it is eager to see the immediate implementation of the various processes that were being discussed, including the effective implementation of the PLRC report and the necessary amendments to the Legal Notice about the Central Cooperative Fund and the Cooperative legislation itself. These changes, MCF said, will result in more growth in a sector that offers so much potential for the country.
