Enerġija Pożittiva Co-op Limited join the Malta Co-operative Federation
The Malta Co-operative Federation Council accepted Enerġija Pożittiva Co-op Limited as a new Member Society of the Federation on 22nd June 2017. The MCF Council Members welcomed the members of this newly registered co-operative to the Federation. Enerġija Pożittiva Co-op joins the growing family of renewable energy cooperatives around the world. The co-operative aims to group citizens and to organise them to collectively take action on renewable energy projects. The co-operative’s members will be in a position to produce electrical energy for their own benefit directly from renewable energy sources chosen by the same members in a democratic and continuous manner. MCF sends letter of congratulations to Prime Minister Joseph Muscat
Following last Sunday's General election result, the Malta Co-operative Federation sent a letter congratulating Dr. Joseph Muscat on his confirmation as Prime Minister of Malta. In this letter, President John Mallia and Secretary General Rolan Micallef Attard said that the Malta Co-operative Federation looks forward to collaborating with the Maltese Government to further exploiting the co-operative potential. The MCF firmly believes that co-operatives are a very effective tool in encouraging people to become direct protagonists in the creation of wealth, and helps in achieving its fair distribution.

"To respond to the disproportionately high housing and rental costs, co-operative housing schemes shall be encouraged, such that every family may have a chance to access modest housing." The news portal also reports that since its inception in 2012 the Malta Co-operative Federation is still suffering discrimination despite repeated promises made by Government to resolve this issue.
