MCF launched its proposals for the 2022 general elections this afternoon. The proposals, entitled “Unlocking Malta’s Co-operative Potential”, were presented to Dr Daniel Micallef, Partit Laburista’s deputy leader for party affairs and Mr George Azzopardi, party CEO.

The proposals are centred around four pillars:

  1. to acknowledge the potential of cooperatives at the political level;
  2. to strengthen Malta’s legislative framework;
  3. to provide the right environment for effective community participation and
  4. education and awareness.

In the run-up to the 2022 general elections, MCF will embark on a campaign to promote the cooperative model among Malta’s political parties, MPs and election candidates.

MCF believes that these proposals present an opportunity to truly unlock the cooperative potential in Malta.
