Patrick Psaila of PsyPotential led a session at the Co-operative Hub on Friday, 6th March 2026, exploring the importance of discovering and aligning around the “Who, Why and What” of our co-operatives.

The session invited participants to reflect on the evolution of cooperation, the importance of shared purpose and values, and the role that clear goals, strategies, and processes play in strengthening collective organisations.

Participants also explored the broader benefits of cooperative business models, including democratic ownership, long-term sustainability, community rootedness, and the positive impact of cooperative environments on well-being and team cohesion.

During the session, Mr Psaila also presented PsyPotential’s Leadership Team Alignment Process (LTAP) framework, a unique facilitated process designed to guide leadership teams through multi-level alignment, enabling them to become more effective in fulfilling their mission and achieving their goals.

The presentation highlighted how leadership misalignment can lead to a range of organisational challenges, including low employee engagement and retention, hindered innovation, conflict and tension, and poor or delayed decision-making. Through LTAP, leaders are supported in addressing these sensitive issues while fostering a culture of open communication, trust, and shared objectives. By addressing the root causes of misalignment, leadership teams can work more effectively together, improve overall organisational performance, and contribute to a more engaged and productive workforce.

The session formed part of ongoing efforts to support co-operatives through practical learning opportunities that strengthen leadership, shared purpose, and organisational effectiveness.
