The Federation’s CEO addresses accountants at the MIA SMP Forum 2015
Mr Rolan Micallef Attard addressed a representative number of Maltese accountants at the Malta Institute of Accountants SMP Forum 2015 held at The Westin Dragonara in St Julians on the 17th April 2015. Government launches consultation process on changes to the Central Co-operative Fund Regulations
The Steering Committee responsible for the Co-operatives Legal Reform, has launched a consultation document that outlines the main changes that are being proposed by Government to the Central Co-operative Fund Regulations (S.L. 442.03). The Malta Co-operative Federation shall be receiving comments on these proposals from co-operative societies, their members and the general public. Comments and suggestions are to reach the Federation by not later than the 4th May 2015. International Women’s Day 2015 – Co-operation: Empowering Women, Empowering Humanity
This year the commemoration of International Women’s Day provides the International Co-operative Alliance and all its members with the perfect opportunity to, not only “imagine” women’s empowerment, but to actually contribute to its achievement. In its annual declaration on International Women's Day, the Gender Equality Committee of the International Co-operative Alliance said that "this is a chance for co-operators to rediscover their potential and their success as people who wish to promote women and men’s transformation in a more equitable society". Transport for Disabled Persons Co-operative Ltd (T.D.P.) join the Malta Co-operative Federation
On March 7, 2015 the Council of the Malta Co-operative Federation approved Transport for Disabled Persons Co-operative Ltd (T.D.P.) as a new Member Society of the Federation. TDP is a co-operative of experienced drivers who provide transport services to passengers with special needs in Malta and Gozo. They have been involved within the transport industry for over 40 years.
