The theme chosen for the International Co-operative Day 2014 celebrated on the 5th July is "Co-operative enterprises achieve sustainable development for all." Ms. Daniela Burlo’, a Bachelor of Accountancy (Hons) 2011-2013 at the University of Malta was awarded in April 2014 the Co-operative Societies prize sponsored by the Central Co-operative Fund for her dissertation entitled “Co-operative or Limited Liability Company? A comparative analysis in a Maltese setting”. Innovative Instruments to Address Youth Unemployment – Seminar 11-12 April 2014
UĦM, in collaboration with MEUSAC and EZA, organized a seminar spread over two days between 11 and 12 April 2014 covering “Innovative Instruments to Address Youth Unemployment”. The seminar was attended by a number of European Trade Union leaders as well as candidates for the European Parliament, Ministers and various members of the Maltese Parliament. The speakers and various panels discussed different initiatives in Europe that focus on youth unemployment. am Language Studio Students visit Malta Co-operative Federation
A number of students from the am Language Studio visited the Malta Co-operative Federation on the 28th March 2014. Mr John Mallia and Mr Rolan Micallef Attard presented a number of videos and gave an overview of the international and local scenarios of the co-operative movement.
