MCF approves new member society
On October 14, 2013 the Council of the Malta Co-operative Federation approved All Services Co-operative Limited as a new Member Society of the Federation. This newly formed worker co-operative will be offering cleaning services to commercial enterprises, non-commercial activities and households. The President of the co-operative, Mr. James Briffa, is hopeful that in the near future this co-operative will venture into further services consisting of light maintenance, security and care services. MCF launches new website
The Malta Co-operative Federation website was officially launched today, Thursday 29th August 2013. The site is intended to provide essential information and contacts to anyone who wishes to learn more about the co-operative model of business, and to those who are interested in setting up a co-operative. The website also aims to promote the co-operative principles and to provide an important link between its member societies, to enable them to be in a better position to work effectively and co-operatively. MCF Council meets newly elected Cooperatives Board
The MCF Council met the newly elected Cooperatives Board. This cordial meeting marked a strong commitment between both parties to mutual collaboration, consultation coupled with dialogue and the sharing of opinions on legislation changes, policy and other matters in the interest of the advancement of the Maltese Co-operative Movement and the Federations’ member societies who they represent.
Co-operative enterprise remains strong in time of crisis
This year’s International Co-operative Day celebrated July 6, 2013 has the theme “Co- operative enterprise remains strong in times of crisis”. It is an apt theme when one considers how other forms of business measure up when faced with current global economic struggles.
