Consultation process for the revision of Co-operative Societies Act launched
The Ministry for the Economy, Investment and Small Business launched a consultation process aimed at strengthening the legal framework governing co-operative societies in Malta. Various information sessions were held on January 28, 2014 at Dar il-Koperattivi, Melita Street, Valletta. The Ministry’s representatives Mr Blaine Camilleri and Mr Matthew Vella, together with the Co-operatives Board Chairperson, Ms Francis Mifsud, met representatives of the Malta Co-operative Federation, Koperattivi Malta, as well representatives of individual co-operative societies. Composition of the Central Co-operative Fund
The Minister for the Economy, Investment and Small Business upon the advice of the Chairperson of the Co-operatives Board has appointed the following persons on the Committee of the Central Co-operative Fund. Changes to the composition of the Co-operatives Board
Certain changes have been made to the composition of the Co-operatives Board as published in the Government Notice No. 1121 in the Government Gazette No. 19164 of the 12th November 2013, Link to Government Notice and Government Notice No. 1102 in the Government Gazette No. 19162 of the 5th November 2013. Co-operatives: A vehicle for SME growth
Chief Pilot. Capt. Jesmond Mifsud has been invited to address a seminar entitled "Co-operatives: A vehicle for SME growth" to be held on the 20th November 2013. The seminar is being held as part of the SME Week Malta 2013. Capt. Global brand for co-operatives unveiled
A global marque for co-operatives has been unveiled by the International Co-operative Alliance. The co-operative logo, designed by a British co-operative, has been launched at the Alliance’s Global Conference in Cape Town which was attended by over 1000 people from 88 nations. Calverts, the London-based creative co-operative, was commissioned in March by the ICA to create the common identity. Building on the momentum created by the International Year of Co-operatives and the widespread use of the logo, the ICA has led on this initiative as part of its Blueprint for a Co-operative Decade initiative.
